Aluminium Shopfront Glazing

Alu-Glaze provides replacement glazing for existing aluminium shopfronts across retail, hospitality, commercial and leisure premises throughout the UK. Our work covers single-glazed shopfront panels, insulated glass units (IGUs), and laminated or toughened safety glass, together with emergency boarding and glass make-safe works when required. Replacement can be scheduled out of hours or delivered in phases to reduce disruption while restoring the shopfront’s safety, security, weather resistance and appearance.

Designed and Installed Around Your Commercial Frontage

An aluminium shopfront glazing project starts with an accurate survey of the opening, structure, thresholds, adjoining finishes and entrance requirements. Alu‑Glaze develops the framing layout around the premises, including mullion and transom positions, door openings, glass sizes, sightlines, finishes and the interfaces that must remain secure and weather-resistant.

The installation scope can cover design development, aluminium framing, commercial glazing specification, manifestations, perimeter sealing, drainage details, protection, delivery and site installation. Where an existing frontage must be removed before the new system is fitted, that enabling work is planned as part of the installation sequence. Isolated damage that does not require a new shopfront remains available through our commercial glazing repair service.

Installation Planned Around Trading and Public Access

Shopfront installation affects entrances, customer routes, deliveries and the security of the premises, so access and sequencing are agreed before work starts. Delivery, offloading, temporary protection, exclusion zones and any removal of the existing frontage are coordinated around the site programme, with out-of-hours working considered where the premises and agreed schedule allow.

Glass is specified around panel size, framing, impact risk, security and performance requirements. The installed frontage may use toughened, laminated or insulated safety glass together with solar-control, privacy or manifestation treatments where appropriate. Frames, doors, glazing, seals and interfaces are checked before handover so the completed shopfront is aligned, secure, weather-resistant and ready for operation.

Project Delivery

How We Deliver Shopfront Glazing Projects

From initial enquiry through to installation and handover, our project team manages every stage of the process to ensure systems are correctly specified, professionally installed and delivered with minimal disruption to business operations.

01

Enquiry & Requirements Review

We review project requirements, frontage dimensions, operational requirements, security considerations and design objectives to determine the most suitable shopfront solution.

02

Quotation, Design & Proposal

System layouts, glazing specifications, door configurations, finishes and hardware requirements are developed into a detailed quotation and proposal. Where required, preliminary elevations, system details and budget options are provided for review.

03

Survey, Installation & Project Management

Following order placement, a detailed site survey is undertaken to verify dimensions, structural interfaces, access requirements and installation constraints. Manufacture, delivery and installation are then coordinated through dedicated project management to ensure safe delivery and programme control.

04

Commissioning & Handover

Completed shopfront systems are inspected, adjusted and commissioned prior to handover. Clients receive project documentation, operating guidance and maintenance recommendations where applicable.

Coordinated Entrance Packages

Shopfront and Door Installation Coordination

Where the new shopfront incorporates a manual or automatic entrance, Alu-Glaze can coordinate the framing and glazing scope with Door Engineers, our specialist commercial door partner within the wider group.

This gives property teams a joined-up installation route for aluminium framing, commercial glazing and compatible entrance requirements, with dimensions, responsibilities and programme interfaces clarified before manufacture begins.
